My story in Melbourne

The previous post was just photos taken in Melbourne, not much of the descriptions because I was not in the mood.

So I’ll try to explain as much as possible here. I went to Melbourne with my housemates, Hui Ji and Hui Yi. And we stayed at Tessa’s place. Tessa is my ex-housemate’s (G Jia) cousin and also my housemates’ ex-housemate (meaning she stayed in the same house as me before). Haha…what a small small world!

Tessa’s place is an apartment named Flagstaff Gardens located at La Trobe Street in the city. So imagine we saw trams, cars and people busy walking around once we came out from Flagstaff Gardens, unlike Perth, No, should be Bentley. Whatever lah… hehe

So what’s interesting in Melbourne? For me, Melbourne is more happening than Perth, of cause. And everywhere is food, food and food again. The food portion is BIG and slightly cheaper than Perth. So eating there is worth it!

My favorite place in Melbourne is all the chocolate stores there. You can sense the chocolate once you enter the store. I was like…waaaaaaaaaaaaaa so nice!!! Chocolates are made in different shapes and features to welcome the coming season of Christmas. And when you take a look at the price, you will WAAAAAAAAA even louder (inside your heart). If I am not mistaken, one pack of chocolate with 9 pieces will cost around A$25 to A$30. *SWT*

Once, we had high tea in one of the chocolate stores, named Koko Black. And you know what? I got melted once I taste the chocolate, especially the chocolate drinks! Gosh! Love it SO MUCHHH!! My housemate took some photos of it but too bad I forgot to get it from her.

Besides hanging around in the city we also visited The Great Ocean Road. The trip cost A$110 per person and was half-day long from 8.30am to 8.30pm. Trust me, if you are a nature lover, you will love this trip very much!! I fell in love with the scenery which can never be seen in Malaysia.

However, the drawback of this trip was the flies-attacked (due to the season). EWwww… very very disgusting! Imagine a cluster of flies stick on your back or your butt. This was what I saw from people around me. GELIK CHIN I tell you!!! Like what I mentioned before, the flies are not attracted to food but humans!! Because of this, I kept on flapping my jackets all the way to avoid flies sticking to me!! Haha!

What else….Hrmm…

Oh ya we walked from city to suburb just to taste the famous Brunetti cakes. It was a long walk to the destination and my legs got sore and accidentally slipped down on the way back. *sob* Luckily there were no one else beside my own friends. If not memang SIA SOI!! No worries, I was fine but my butt HURTs! Numbed awhile and remained normal after a few seconds. Wakaka!

Brunetti's cakes

Ok lah, I think that’s all about my trip in Melbourne. Too much to talk about liawz! Ciao~

Lunch Buffet at Atrium

Again, another buffet with housemates! This time, we went to Atrium which is located next to Bursewood Casino. Okay, I know what some of you would think, I didn’t go gamble this time ok? =p

The lunch is suppose to cost $28 per person but because of no idea what season they raised it to $42!!! =.='' Damn… Anyways, we only paid $32 per person after the discount. Better than $42 larhh…!

The place is well-designed with many water fountains around especially the wishing fountain! ( I didn't make any wish as I think it's useless for me @.@) Anyhow, the most attractive fountain that captured my attention was……………………..

Yummy Yummy!! *drools*

Yeah.....the desserts were TOO attractive to me, so I started off my lunch with the desserts while the rest started with proper lunch food =D I just couldn’t wait to bite each and every cake or pastry placed on the table!! Especially the Chocolate Fountain!! Just…couldn’t…wait….any longer to taste it! And trust me, it tastes AWESOME!!!! Hehe… So you can imagine I was like a hungry freak who hasn’t been eating for days!?! (haha...just being exaggerate =p)

Was playing the chocolate mud fountain with the marhmallow ^ ^ ( How I wish to have one at home...)

More desserts

Beside cakes and pastries, there were many different flavours of ICE-CREAM where we can prepare ourselves by adding some additional ingrediants such as oreo, honey, biscuits etc. You can have as many scoops as you want as long as you are able to consume it all!!

I still didn't want to give up the ice-cream though I was already full to the brim after those fooooood....@.@ Well, the consequence of overloaded stomach was ................... hiccups all the way to city (after the buffet) till the night!!! Holly Cow....! It was so embarassing as I hiccuped few times in front of people =.=''

Seafood!

Some meat, pasta and buns and ....a lot lahh..

All in all, it was worth a lunch for me with such a wide variety of food. I guess it will be the last buffet in Perth BUT not yet the last meal. Still more to go on food here !! Hiak Hiak! Before I end this post, just wanna let you guys know that I'd visited Vietnamese Restaurant the day before that and the Broken Rice was DELICIOUS!! *winkz* No pictures taken so....

Ciao~

How to wear scent?

After I came to Perth, testing fragrance at Myer has become one of my hobbies xD. Why do I say Myer but not other places? This is because there is a WIDEeeee range of fragrance brands at Myer! SOooo many that you really need some time to decide which to own! *very fan oh @.@* So after busy testing and smelling here and there for all types of fragrance (luckily I didn’t get suffocated like how Mr. Bean did in the comedy HAHA), I finally made up my mind to purchase “Dior addict 2”! I got it much cheaper during the X'mas special offer for only A$80.75 (50ml) with a Dior's lotion for free. ^ ^

I love the scent so much as it’s sweet and light which suit most young ladies like me =D. I personally don’t prefer strong scent as I think it goes better for aunties or older-aged ladies. =x

Well, was wondering which are the best places to spray?? Some ladies spray on their wrist, their neck, their clothes or even the hair O.O.

Anyways, I’ve discovered some information regarding how to wear scent…

Firstly,
think “V”

Spray at the left shoulder, next at the heart area, and then finish with right shoulder. Shoulders are in constant movement, when you walk, turn, and gesture. This allows the fragrance to diffuse gently and continuously.

Secondly, think Circle

Surround yourself with scent by spraying inside of wrists and behind each knee. The fragrance disperses with every move.

Thirdly, think Traditional

Spray the pulse points: neck, wrists, and behind the knees!!

And remember, don't spray too close to the body. Hold spray at least 2cm from the body for better diffusion.

So guys, if you own a fragrance(s) now or you are planning to get one soon, these are the three ways that you can spray!

Happy fragrance spraying!! ^ ^

Kuching Vs Perth

What’s the difference between my life in Perth and Kuching?? Sometimes I miss Kuching so much that I hope to go back as soon as possible. Sometimes I thought of continuing my life in Perth after I have graduated. Why do I have such feelings? Which is the one that I like? Which is the best for me? Many question marks appeared. ???? @.@

Why do I prefer Perth?

Staying in Perth is a challenge for me. From the moment I stepped into this region, my life changed. Everything changed. I manage to gain more knowledge and experience in Perth. What kind of experience?

Experience in:

  • Culture shock or dealing with friends from different culture
  • Having the same class with different people around the world
  • Walking all the way to Uni (I don’t walk so much in Malaysia)
  • Being brave and tough enough
  • Being far more independent to get my life move on despite of the agony
  • Earning and spending my own pocket money (enjoy it =) )
  • Working as a waitress in a restaurant dealing with so many issues and skills
  • Having the opportunity to taste a wide variety of food *winks*

Every single experience that I’ve gone through is a challenge for me and also a tool to develop myself. At the same time, I discovered weaknesses of myself which I’ve never notice before. Consequently, I realized the degree of my own potential as a human being, which is rather disappointing to know… to be frank =.=

I couldn’t really cope well with people in this new place and this is why I don’t have much social life in Perth. Friends? Yea, I have friends of cause but it’s only a few… I mean REAL friends, forget about “hi-bye” friends. My social skill just sux and I don’t have much confidence in myself. Yea…my major weaknesses. Anyhow, life still goes on and I will always look on the bright side despite of these…undesirable phenomena. *sigh*

Why do I prefer Kuching?

Kuching is my place! ^ ^ The first place I stepped into the moment I was born. Life is so relaxing here and I feel much more comfortable to be myself in Kuching. Parents are always with me (though not always by my side due to their hectic life) and I have devoted relatives and cousins visiting my house every week. Feel so warm and loving. Friends are everywhere, with stories of our past. “Lim Teh” is always our favorite past time and not to say supper is always ready at kopitiam! My life is full of activities such as lim teh, movie and party! I love hanging out with friends and being socialize! Unlike in Perth, never go watch movie at all =(. Lim Teh? Never heard these two words at all! Party? Yeh, once for Asian cocktail night. We have the same culture and same communication style, thus no pressure of culture differences. Be as how I want to be!! Nice right?

However, the adverse effect of staying in Kuching is I tend to enjoy life and make myself getting lazier and lazier, as if I am degrading… NO, it’s exactly degrading. O.O When it comes to shopping, I feel so terrible as I don’t have enough pocket money to spend. My parents don’t give me much pocket money and money I have is just enough for limteh with buddies. =( Some more, I don’t go for causal work in Kuching… No extra pocket money for me and don’t ask me to work as a waitress in Kuching! Hell no… Not worth it at all! This is the life that I had in Kuching. Probably will be different if I work there? No idea.

So this is basically my thoughts for these two places. Any comments?

So as you can see from the list above, there are…….let me count first…. *counting*………9 activities waiting for me! I can’t wait any longer! *Argh* The more activities I have, the more MONEY I need!!! Hence, I will never forget one VERY important thing that I needa do, which is to…..WORK MORE!!! So yeh, gonna work as many shifts as possible and suffer as much as I can Tahan lo! What to do right??? *sigh*

Anyways, been rotting these two days at home after the exam….REAL Bored man…No life at all. No drama to watch and I hardly can watch any movie or clips in Youtube due to the “snail-like” Internet line. SUX chin. =.=

So, what I did today is…………………………………………….....

I don’t like to do chores BUT….I can’t stand living under one roof together with cockroaches!!! Only humans are allowed to stay with me. NO COCKROACHES!!! And I killed another cockroach today….Guess where I saw it??

~!@#$

Haiz.. Guess I will just give up whatever I aimed for… it’s too late to regret or rescue anything.

The phrase “No use crying over spilt milk” best describes my condition now.

One more unit to go on Monday and just don’t let me go kill myself for giving me a “fail” for that bloody unit! A “pass” will do.

I don’t need any luck or wish from anyone. Just let it be… because it’s useless.
All I can say is God is not on my side.

This semester really SUX big time! All of my hopes and confidence have been destroyed… First, Business Capstone, then now Finance International…

Lastly, I just need a “pass” for Fin Corporate…

May be I should just let go of everything now and look on the other brighter side which can make my days better.

Feel sorry for my parents. I’d tried my best. Sorry…

Summer = cockroaches + flies + insects + heat

Beware of COCKROACHES!!

Summer is coming or has come? Flies are buzzing everywhere, insects are making stupid sound everyday *cha si lang!*, and cockroaches will never forget to join the “party” as well… =.= Saw two cockroaches last week in the kitchen at home. One got killed by Dave and one managed to escape from me while I was trying to roll the newspaper thick enough to kill it…too bad.

And today, I saw a cockroach corpse on the floor at Curtin’s library café and I nearly step on it when I was about to take a seat! Oh dear… luckily I noticed it! *phew* I thought it’s alive a first till Janet went to give it a kick (actually wanna scare it away lar...)! Ha Ha! Knowing it's already dead, I guai guai took a seat with the corpse beside me. =x *eWW*

RIP

Summer is coming!

I can feel the heat is burning…It’s 30˚c today and gonna be hotter in the coming days!!

Current condition

Detailed forecast

This is the extended forecast weather.... oh my god... How am I gonna survive my exam week??

Heater had been replaced by a fan in my room. There’s no air-conditioner here!! *Jiu Ming Ah!* Flies are growing fatter and fatter as heat increases!! AS FAT AS BEES!!! Oh my goodness!! Those who stay in Malaysia should feel lucky that Malaysia don’t have such big flies flying around. You can refer to Jackson’s blog where he mentioned about how he learnt to be elegant. HAHA!

Unlike flies in Malaysia which only get attracted to food and rubbish, Aussie flies LOVE humans So Much!! =.= They fly around human, especially close to their face, their eyes, their nose and their lips!! Yuck! Better don’t open or yawn too big the mouth! You never know when a fly will get into your throat and choke you to death! *terrible*

Flies here are just too annoying and irritating, it sticks to me wherever I go, especially when I’m walking on the road to uni or work (at least I won't get so lonely with these lil' companions with me... jK lah xD). And as usual, you can see people on the road busy waving or fanning their face with their hand, So Do I!! It’s not because of the heat but the stupid bloody FLIES!!! How I wish I had an electrical racket flies-killer with me to KILL all those flies around! *evil* HAHAHA

Can someone please tell me why Aussie flies are so DAMN BIG and LOVE HUMANS SO MUCH???

My first experience in baking Muffins!

After the stressful Capstone presentation yesterday I felt SO relieved and happy!! It’s like I’d dropped down one big stone carried over the semester. So, my mood was So Damn good that I suddenly thought of Baking Muffins!!! *Here I come muffins!!!*

Actually I bought this package of muffins powder 2 months ago from Coles. It’s Triple Chocolate Muffins with chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. So the chips melted in the muffins when it’s baked. Nice right??

The package that I bought to bake muffins

The procedure is rather simple as long as you follow the instructions. What you need are 80ml of vegetable oil, 160ml of water and 2 eggs. Mix the content in the box with all these ingredients into a bowl and stir it till smooth and creamy. It’s better to use a machine but since I don’t have the machine I used my human power. HaHa! After that, spoon batter into the muffin pan filling the paper cup till ¾. Then, heat it in the oven for approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

When the muffins were still inside the oven

My housemate sponsored me the paper cups and lent me and muffin pan to bake the muffins. Feel so fun and excited baking muffins for the first time with my housemates’ assistance! Kekekke… I can see the muffins growing bigger and bigger in the oven from the outside.

TADA! My Muffins!

I made nine muffins in total and share it with my housemates. It’s nice to share food with each other. =) and also, I gave one to Janet when we went for grocery shop at Coles just now. Hope she likes it too!
